Anything well-balanced. And the perseverance to wait till you get home to make something than stopping at a fast-food place.
I don't see the point of taking out important calories in your diet, it's the empty ones you'll want to watch out for. An empty calorie is one that is provided in food for enhancement or flavor, but has no important nutrients for your body and lead to fat-buildup and ultimately cardiovascular issues - the whole schpiel.
I'm 17, 5'1 and 104 pounds (I'm just really short lol) But I'm not a twig, in fact I have a bit of pudge I'd like to get rid of. However, I'm not compromising the foods I love! Eat your pasta, and your steaks, and even a hamburger once in a while. Cook it yourself. You have the best control of what's going in your body when you're behind the cutting board. Stay away from pre-packaged foods that you make just to save time. You'll be saving yourself more than time by slicing up some potatoes, throwing some olive oil & a little salt and pepper on them onto a baking sheet, and throwing them in the oven than eating frozen Oreida's from the bag!
As long as your meals have something from each corner of the food pyramid, and the calories that you intake are also good providers of nutrients (Example: some steaks are fatty; however, steak is a big provider of iron, so eat up!)
Fish is possibly the most healthy food... Seafood, not so much. But why not? Have a little lobster, just take it in moderation. Don't eat the same dinner twice in one week. If you don't like to cook, ask your mom or whoever does the cook to vary it up a bit and try new things that she can make from scratch. 30 minute meals from Rachael Ray might help you out if you're always on the go! Hope this helped!

I wouldn't go on a diet, per se, because they are really hard to maintain. Something that I did was start carrying healthy snacks with me like a baggy of carrots or raisins so that you don't end up eating junk food. If you never let yourself get really hungry you'll be less likely to binge too. Also try eating on small plates; studies show that you eat less off a small plate.

Also drink lots of water. Sometimes people eat when you're just thirsty. Plus drinking water is really good for you. Try to avoid drinking soda or anythign w/ sugar or any calories in it. Diet soda, water and tea are your best bets.

Another thing you can do is walk up as many flights of stairs as you can; take the long way when you walk places and so on. If you hang out with friends on the weekend try going hiking with them instead of going to a movie.

I hope this helps!

A sure-fix?
Remove processed sugars from your diet. Period.
(ie., no sodas, candy, cereals(most), etc.)

Second, reduce any/all white flour products.

Third, manage the time of day you eat. (Do NOT eat past 8pm., no matter how hungry).

Those three steps will greatly impact your diet and consquently your weight.

Final and most important -- manage calorie intake... even if just 5 less calories a day... manage it.

I was very impressed by the fact the author, Mark Lauren, says straight out that he doesn't train movie stars. He trains men and women to survive, to be able to function well in life. That's what's really needed. The good looks, the great body, come as a side effect but is not the goal.

Hey, I recommend that you try Hypnotherapy!
No, I'm not kidding you on this. I used to weigh 198 lbs and my height is only 5'8" - for my height and with that kind of weight I'm really obese! I tried the "Master clense" and other diet recipes, and I even watched Richard Simmons videos but they didn't helped me at all!

I tried going to a gym with a strict diet once and within a week later, I stopped going to gym and started eating more than before. It brought me back to where I started again. I am sure you happen to experience it like me.

One day, I was watching CNN news and they interviewed this hypotherapist guy, his name is Steve. I myself do not believe in hypnotherapy but the hypnotherapist was rather convincing so I visited his site (http://www.betterlivingwithhypnosis.tk/) and he has a "Weight Loss Powerpack". I bought the part 2 "Weight Loss Powerpack 2" which consist of Weight Loss, Stop Binge Eating and I Love To Exercise. It is more affordable than a month of subscription to the gym and having those strict diets.

The first few days I realized my eating dropped significantly and my weight dropped a little. A week later, I begin to feel motivated to exercise and such! His hypnotherapy works! It has been a month already since I bought his program and I already lost 18.3 lbs! I recommend you give it a shot!

I don't think switching to a healthier diet lowers your immune system. Chances are, your body is still adjusting on your new diet. But sooner you'll body will be healthier. Consulting a doctor is an option, for you to be sure. Health is Wealth remember?

Diet solution program that may help you http://www.dietsolutionreview.com/

No...I don't believe a healthy diet can put you at greater risk for sickness...but....it MAY be possible that simply CHANGING your habits may temporarily reduce your immune strength until your body adapts to the change. See....increased stress CAN lower your immunities...and if the new diet is a source of stress initially...that could make a slight difference in your ability to fight off infection.

If you don't know your gluts from your pecs, this book will really help. It's one of the first books I picked up to study for my NESTA Personal Fitness Trainer (PFT) designation.

With lots of color illustrations, you'll not only learn human anatomy, more importantly you'll see exactly which muscles are worked by some of the more popular exercises.

The book is organized by muscle group with each chapter containing a number of popular exercises (ie: bench press, push-up, body-weight dips, cable crossover, etc). For each exercise listed, there's a color illustration showing exactly which muscles are being worked as well as their names.

This is a great reference book for anyone seriously interested in fitness.

All the nutrition data that I am aware of most likely originates from the USDA and can be accessed at the following site:

http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/
<><

My best to you,
A1

PS – If you are interested I currently feel that what Dr. Fuhrman MD teaches is the best nutritional information available in the nation.

the best way and probably the only way to really be accurate with what you eat is to eat processed food that have the nutrition value on the box and to eat only the serving size that the nutrition value is for.

Wow you eat healthy! I buy many of the same things when I go shopping, but I do notice that to eat healthy like this is expensive.
You could try substituting whole grain rice for some of the whole grain cereal grains (or mix it in). Making rice isn't as convenient but you can always freeze lunch size portions too. You can find types like whole grain basmati rice that you might find more palatable too. I find its cheaper to buy than those and I notice when I eat it my weight drops some too.

Personally I would cut out the lean pockets and lean cuisine meals in favor of less processed foods that you already have on the list, particularly salad greens, and vegetables. I find I feel better with less processed foods. Also you might want to increase the number of times you eat in a day while decreasing the amount at certain meals. I find it helps curbs my appetite so I eat less. Maybe you can save some money that way too!
Good luck to you!

I would definately limit the cereals, snack bars and ready meals. These might be low in fat or cals but in reality they are all processed and usually contain lots of uneccesary additives. You also need some sort of milk or dairy in your diet, try rice milk if you want something really healthy.

Hi,

Your diet seems mostly healthy, but i would try and cut out the ready meals (lean cusine and pockets) they may say they are healthy but any ready meal isnt great for you and usually has hidden sugars/fats. Instead i would take a homemade salad in a tub to work or go for the healthy soups your buying (but check the lables too).
I like to make my salads for dinner more interesting by adding boiled eggs or corn on the cob.
Try low fat yogurt with strawberrys and low fat organic granola for breakfast maybe. Try wholemeal tortilla wraps instead of bread for a variety. Omlette and salad for dinner, i like mine filled with mushrooms, herbs and salsa.
Hope that helps!

It is feasible to lose weight rapidly but you should be realistic and comprehend that if you lose weight rapidly then you will almost certainly put it all back on again just as rapidly. The only method that definitely delivered for me is wu-yi tea, it can be viewed in the resource box underneath, they have a limited number of free trials remaining, it has been reported in Fox News and CNN. I lost thrity pounds, it definitely does produce success!
